Local nonprofits harvest for the hungry

For most nonprofits the idea of “giving back” is just part of their everyday mission. But there are two area organizations that have taken it a step further.

The Columbian recently featured an article on volunteers at Urban Abundance and Clark County Food Bank “who gleaned surplus rutabagas, parsnips, carrots and leeks at Purple Rain Vineyard in Brush Prairie.”

The Food went to the St. Vincent De Paul food pantry in Brush Prairie.
